What is “crunch time”?

The phrase “crunch time” is used to describe a time or a situation in which people really need to focus and work as hard as possible. It’s usually used when there is a deadline coming up, and is to try to say that there is a sense of urgency to the situation – and things need to be done as quickly as possible.

Here’s an example of it’s usage:

“We have a deadline tomorrow to get this project 
done, which means it’s crunch time tonight.”
