What is an alpha male?

An alpha male is a male who is very aggressive and a leader of others. In the workplace, he is the person who people look to for leadership and also the one who gets things done.

The term alpha male was originally used to describe the leader or head male in a pack of wolves.

“Bob is the best employee we have - he always gets
 things done and knows how to get other people to 
accomplish a goal.  He’s definitely the alpha male of 
the group.”
